Rubber Molding

Traditional fiberglass manufacturing techniques limit the level of precise details and the shape of a design. At VR Composites we incorporate rubber molds and mold inserts when the finished product demands accurate placement of fine details or it simply has an odd shape.

Our creative use of rubber inserts in this mold allowed inclusion of some minute details as well as "negative release" features.

A client's design called for a cup holder in a difficult location. Instead of trying to convice the customer to change their mind, VR Composites designed a silicone rubber insert that resulted in a cup holder that met the original specifications.
